Luau, continued

I know I promised more Hawaii book earlier in the week, but here it is now.  My apologies, I've been dealing with a possible slipped/herniated disc in my back and it just makes everything difficult!  Anyway, here is the next layout from our time at the Paradise Cove Luau:

Pattern:  Magic - Charmed

Supplies Used:
Papers & My Stickease:  Moon Doggie
Cardstock & Ink:  Desert Sand, Honey, Cranberry, Cocoa
Cricut Cartridges:  Creative Memories Traveler, Life is a Beach

I decided not to do any journaling on this layout (and the next) because on my first page of the Luau, I journaled about everything that we did that evening.  And I remember that I'd cut the lettering too large to fit, but I didn't have another large piece of Cocoa paper with me (I did this one at a retreat) to re-cut my lettering.  So I made it fit, and I love the results.  There are no mistakes in scrapbooking - everything is fixable, and if all else fails, slap a sticker on it!

Only a few more finished pages left...I'll post more soon!

Another Father's Day card

Okay, I finally got the other card that I made downloaded to my computer:
This is the one that is similar to the birthday card I posted several days ago...

Supplies used:
Papers: Cruisin'
Cardstock & Ink:  Black, White Daisy, Juniper, Lagoon
Mini Medley - black button brads
Pop dots
My Acrylix - Wonderful Friend, Say it in Style

I made a birthday card like this one as well - it's a good design for guys!

I'll post more of the Hawaii book this week - I've only got a few more pages done so I'm spreading them out.  Need to get to finishing that book; I have a million more projects to work on (as all scrapbookers do, right?)!

Father's Day Cards

Okay, so I'm going to post a Father's Day card BEFORE the holiday for anyone out there looking for ideas.  That, and I know my Dads probably don't visit my blog so the surprise won't be spoiled...
I made this one for my Father in Law using the Dotty For You papers and the April Stamp of the Month set.  I stamped " #1 Dad " using The Works font set with World's Best Dad (retired).  Ink:  Lagoon and Pacifica. (See design credit, below)

Gah!  The other card I made is still on my camera waiting to be downloaded...  I'll do that in a few, but first I thought I'd post the other Mother's Day cards I made:

(I was inspired by another CTMH rep's designs for all of the cards on today's post - Jody Gufstafson at cre8nmemories.blogspot.com.  I love looking at various blogs for ideas on card styles!  Her blog had the pink card above and I loved the design so I ran with it, making several cards in a bunch of different colors!)

Card Design:  Originals
Papers:  Dotty for You
Cardstock & Ink:  White Daisy, Pacifica, Lagoon, Sky, Cotton Candy, Blush, Smoothie, Sweet Leaf, Olive, New England Ivy, Gypsy, Petal, Smoothie
Ribbon: CTMH from my stash
Cricut Art Philosophy and stamp set
My Acrylix Simple Memories, With Love, and A Little Everything
Sizzix Boutique dots folder (sanded)

I love the designs from the Simple Memories set - they remind me of Spyrographs from when I was a kid.
Two of these cards are Mother's Day cards, and the other two are birthday cards.  This design is great for a variety of celebrations!

I'm off to download more photos from my camera.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Cards

Okay, I've downloaded my mother's day cards (finally!) and they are ready to post:

This one was made with the Dotty for You papers, along with the coordinating colors:  Smoothie, Sweet Leaf, Lagoon.

I also used the Love Life My Acrylix stamp set.  For the Sweet Leaf background paper, first I stamped all over and then spritzed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist in a light green.  You can't really see from the photo, but the paper sparkles.

The other stamped images are from the February stamp of the Month set, and a couple of other retired sets.  I can't remember the name of the set I got the butterfly from and it's going to drive me crazy until I go down to my craft room to find out...I'm pressed for time right now, so that will have to wait!  I'll post more Mother's Day cards later.

UPDATE:  The butterfly stamp is from the Lucy Workshop, and the other stamp used were from retired My Acrylix sets With Love and A Little Everything...

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Luau Time!

I took lots and lots of photos when we went to the Paradise Cove Luau, so I spread them out over three layouts.  Here is the first of the bunch:

This one came together quickly using the Level 1 kit and My Stickease.

Supplies used:
Papers & My Stickease:  Level 1 Moon Doggie
CardStock & Ink:  Desert Sand, Cocoa, Indian Corn Blue
Journaling Spot:  Journey (retired)
My Acrylix:  PostCard Travel Series
Colonial White Twill
Cocoa Biggie Brads
Dimensional Elements Framed Fun

Font cutouts are from Cricut Creative Memories Traveler

More Luau to come soon!

And I just realized that I haven't downloaded my photos of the Mother's Day Cards I made from my camera, so I'll post those as soon as I have them ready.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Card

I found this scan of a birthday card I made a while back and I thought I'd post it.  I'm looking for design ideas for Father's Day cards and I think I might make something similar to this one this year with a different set of stamps and the Cruisin' papers...
I can't really tell you much about the supplies used, I just know the papers were from a CTMH special collection (like this Month's Dotty special) and the stamp set was also a special set.  I was practicing the rock 'n roll technique:
Ink stamp in a lighter color, choose a darker color from the same family and tip the stamp at an angle onto the ink pad and roll just the outer edges into the color.  It looks like I used Sweet Leaf and Olive.
This is an easy design to use for a variety of occasions!

Mother's Day card

Time to get busy making Mother's Day cards!  Here is one I made last year:

Supplies used:
Papers:  Emporium creative basics
Cardstock & Ink: Blush, Baby Pink, Vineyard Berry, Olive, Garden Green, Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue
My Acrylix:  Extreme Happiness
Clear Embossing powder
Dot resist letters (inked with Vineyard Berry)
Clear sparkles
Buckle from Mini Medley
Vineyard Berry ribbon

I cut the shape using my Cricut, I think the cartridge was Storybook.  And I embossed the background paper using a Sizzix dot emboss plate and the Sizzix Boutique embosser.

I haven't downloaded this year's batch of Mother's Day cards yet but I'll post them soon!

More from Hawaii Book...

These next two layouts were from our third day in Hawaii.  I wasn't feeling well that morning, so I didn't go along on the Pearl Harbor tour.  My hubby came back with photos for the scrapbook though!

It's a bit weird to scrapbook someone else's experience, so that's why there really isn't any journaling...  I used a We R pocket page protector to pop in several of the 4x6 photos and then added traditional scrapbooking in the larger pockets.  Wasn't that nice of my husband to keep his ticket for me to add to the scrapbook!  These pages came together quickly using the Level 1 pre-designed pages from CTMH.

Products used:
Level 1 Magnifique
Papers & My Stickease:  Magnifique
Cardstock & Ink:  Pacifica, Chocolate
My Acrylix:  Friendship Alphabet
Buttons - blue collection
Waxy Flax - cocoa
Sparkles - blue

metal buckle from my stash (I think it might be Making Memories)

Thanks for stopping by!
