More Hiking in Hawaii

Yep, I got another layout finished!  Was a little waylaid by a computer glitch - hubby had to install a new hard drive before I could download my photos (it's so nice to have a hubby who knows how to do these things!) - here they are:

I'd planned at first to use a 5 x 7 photo on the left side, but I wasn't happy with the printing of that photo - the shadow on our faces was too dark.  So I used my PhotoMate to lighten the photos and print a 4 x 6 that I liked better.  I made a larger matte space and I think it turned out just fine.  Again, I had lots of photos that I wanted to include on this layout, so I used Flip Flaps.  I've propped it up for the purposes of photographing the page (it's hard to take photos after the layouts are in the page protectors, glossy surface/flash don't mix), and then I attached them on the outside of my page protector after putting the layout in my album.

My layouts seem to be coming together faster & easier lately, which is good because I'm determined to get my Hawaii photos finished in the next few weeks so I can start in on my next big project.  AND I want to spend some time with all of my new CTMH Autumn/Winter goodies!

Hopefully I'll find some more time this afternoon to work on my next layout.  I have to take my dog to the vet in a little while, he's got a strange lesion/absess on his lip and we need figure out what's going on there... Hopefully the little guy will be feeling better soon and then I can go back to working in my craft room.

Hiking in Hawaii

Yay!  I got another Hawaii layout done!  I decided to stretch a planned two layout collection to three...I had so many photos from this day, and it was my favorite part of our Hawaii trip, so I've decided to do three layouts instead of using a 6-up.  So here it is:

I didn't add any journaling on this one because I already explained the details on the previous page.  I dug out some old retired papers - I was looking for some dot paper from the You Rock collection when I came across It's A Guy Thing.  Then I decided to change my color scheme altogether and not put in the Outdoor Denim on this one.  I love how adding the My Stickease borders brought all the colors together.

Jungle Adventure in Hawaii

I got a little distracted the last couple of days because the new 2012 Autumn/Winter Idea books were released to consultants yesterday, and I've been following the hoopla online...BUT - I finished another Hawaii layout the other day and just got it edited and prepped for posting.  So here it is:

I hand-stitched the border and I love the results.  (I haven't tried actual sewing on my layouts since I'm a little afraid of clogging up my machine with little paper bits)  I used the Magician's Choice pattern again because I wanted to pack a bunch of similar photos on a single page.  I kept the embellishments to a minimum because I think there's enough happening in this layout already!

YES!  CTMH is coming out with a new Cricut set.  This one is called Artiste.  I am SO excited to receive mine - I placed my order yesterday and it should arrive soon.  I can't wait to start creating with it.  As it is now, the first CTMH Cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy pretty much has a permanent home in my Cricut because I use it so much.  I love how the stamp sets match up perfectly with the shapes, and the Dimensional Element shapes can be easily added as well.

I've ordered in some of the new products and will have them to show you at the workshop at the end of the month.

Our View in Hawaii

Yes!  I stuck to my plans and worked on my Hawaii book today.  One more layout finished.  I'm really hoping to finish this album by the end of July because I have another HUGE scrapbooking project waiting for me to get started...

I created this layout mostly because I wanted to include the journaling explaining how we wound up switching/upgrading our room:  the toilet overflowed/exploded the first night - I was a bit traumatized at the time, but it all worked out...!

(I had to alter the recipe a bit since my photos were different sizes and horizontal instead of vertical, and my title took up more space than I originally intended.  I decided to add the arrows to lead the eye in the correct direction to read the full title.)

Exploring Hawaii

Okay, so this is the last layout I have finished for my book.  I know I keep talking about it, but I just haven't been able to dedicate any time towards working on my Hawaii photos lately!  Seems like every time I step into my craft room, it is to make a card instead of a layout.  My goal for July:  work on my Hawaii book!  I know I'll get at least one layout done because I have a workshop scheduled this month.  :-)

Thankfully, I have some big non-craft projects handled as of today; my back problems have been diagnosed:  no surgery or drugs involved, it can be helped with physical therapy (yay!); and I'm basically going to be able to get back to my regular routine - which means more time for scrapbooking, hopefully!
