September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Family is Forever

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring September's SOTM, which is Family is Forever, a set of 7 stamps. If you have come here from Stefani Ewing's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants HERE.

This month we have 80, yes, 80! Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one. Here we go!

I've had this project in mind for quite some time.  When I was working on the Haight Ancestry books ( see my post about that here ) I made plans to place my husband's grandfather's pocket watch in a shadow box.  This month's Stamp of the Month was perfect for this project.

I created a background cardstock by random stamping the sentiment 'family is forever' with tone-on-tone in whisper.

Then I stamped the tree in slate on the b & t papers and placed the Artiste cutout of 'Family' over it.  I tried to keep everything clean and simple because I knew I had a lot of items I wanted to include.
Along with the pocket watch, my mother in law gave me some buttons from grandpa's army uniform, and I wanted to somehow include the shoelace that grandma used to wear the pocket watch as a necklace.  I did a simple chain stitch to make it smaller and to make it easier to place on the page.

Here is what it looks like in the shadowbox:
(Sorry about the glare - glass is really hard to photograph!)
Supplies used:
Avonlea papers (retired, but you can find this pattern used in the Picture My Life program)
Cardstock & Ink:  Whisper, Slate Chocolate
Slate ribbon (retired)

Pathfinding Cards

Hello everyone!  It's been awhile.  We've been busy - hubby took me on a little trip to see Mt. Rushmore.  Neither of us had ever been, and it's really not that far from Colorado.
It was nice to get away for a few days and explore someplace new.

Now back to "work":  Here are a few cards I made using the Pathfinding Workshop on the Go cardmaking kit.  Have I mentioned how much I love these kits?  Everything you need (except ink, blocks & adhesive) to make 15 cards is included in the kit.

Here are mine:

I like to decorate the insides of my cards & the envelopes as well:

And I had leftovers to make a card holder too:
I like to have lots of 'Thank You' cards handy, and this kit has added to my stash.   The sentiment could also easily be changed to make birthday cards.

Purchase the Pathfinding Cardmaking kit HERE, or go to my online store at www.ctmh.com/dmhaight.

Isn't it Wanderful?

I have more new products to show you today.  Next up is the Wanderful Workshop on the Go.  Purchase it Here

These kits are fantastic because they come with all the supplies you'll need to make two double-page spreads with lots of leftover supplies.  This kit comes with the Wanderful complements and a full roll of Washi tape (15 yards!), along with a D-size stamp set ($17.95 value) exclusive to the workshop and Wanderful papers and card stock.

This layout was created using cuts from Cricut Artbooking, but the included guide has directions for creating another version of this layout without using the Cricut.  So don't worry - you can still make this workshop if you don't own a Cricut!

And like all Workshops on the Go, the second additional layout instructions can be found on my website.  Instructions for the Wanderful workshop additional layout can be found here:  Additional Layout: Wanderful
Here are some closer views of the embellishment clusters:

(in case you're wondering, yes, I did not adhere the 'you' to the page - it needs to be attached to the photo placed in that section so I left it on the carrier sheet temporarily)

Super - fun!  I know I'll be able to use this stamp set on lots of other travel scrapbook pages.  Workshops on the Go, or WOTG for short, are awesome for a quick 'to go' project to take to crops since all your supplies are already together.  Just add ink & blocks!

Check out my online store for all of the great workshops that CTMH offers.  And keep checking this blog for more great projects made with new stuff!

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop! We will be featuring projects using new products from the 2014-2015 CTMH Annual Inspirations idea book. If you have come here from Michele Rowley's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants HERE.
We have over 50 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using new CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I'm calling my project "Snowhaven Meets Yuletide Carol".

First, I made the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop on the Go:
THEN, I changed it up using the Yuletide Carol papers & colors:

Here is a closer look at each card:

Ink & Cardstock: New England Ivy, Ruby
New Gold Shimmer Trim

Yep, as many of you know, I get started on my Christmas cards in August.  I am blessed to have a HUGE group of friends and family to send cards to every year, so I make about 125 or so.  This means Christmas starts very early for me!
Now "Hop" on over to Katy Taylor's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!

Want to see more projects using the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop?  Continue on...

This is a card holder I made by folding a 12 x 12 piece of b & t.  I left the zip strip on and folded it down to show on the inside of the folder.

I kept it simple by using a couple of black eyelets (retired) and ribbon (also, sadly, retired), and made pockets using super-strong Scor-Tape.
And this card holder was made using the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  Simple Ruby, Black, and new Glacier cardstock was used and decorated with stamps from the workshop.
Here is a closer look at photos of each card from that workshop:

My favorite is the stamp with the line of Christmas trees.  I think this stamp set will get a good workout this year - so many options for creativity.  I love it when a workshop goes further than the project it was designed for.

Book Launch Brunch

Hello!  And welcome to my <virtual> Book Launch!  You won't be able to partake in any of the yummy goodies I made for brunch, you can still see photos of what I showed everyone!

I held my brunch last Saturday, and I was so happy to have a fun group of gals join me!

We ate some yummy egg bake, fruit and pastries while pouring over the new Annual Inspirations book.  After our tummies were full, we went downstairs to my craft room to look at new projects and to do a few make and takes.  Here is what greeted them:

I set up a table with as many of the new projects as I could cram on there.  Don't worry -  We'll take a closer look at most of them in coming posts.  I just wanted to give you an overview of what the presentation looked like.

Then they turned the corner to find their spot to do some crafting:
I also had several drawings for FREE goodies:
And if you noticed some Avon bags in a pink bucket in the first photo, those are the goodie bags that everyone received.  I'm lucky, because I sell both Avon and CTMH and have access to lots of great stuff for giveaways!

Don't have your own copy yet and want to view the new Annual Inspirations?  You can see it digitally at my website here: VIEW ANNUAL INSPIRATIONS

Thanks for joining me <virtually> for my brunch!  Stay tuned to this blog for more photos of new products.
